My name is Sharmila, Sharm for short, the designer and maker behind Bead-it by Sharm K. I’m from Malaysia. After working as an internal auditor for more than 10 years, I left my job to pursue my real passion into the world of tiny little beads. I love nature, and many of my designs are inspired by the nature around me. I love creating different designs and working with different colours. Seed beads gives me the luxury to do that, such a fun way to express myself. I aim to make all of my designs as close to one-of-kind as possible. Each jewellery piece takes anywhere between 3 hours to 10 hours to make, and that doesn’t include the countless hours of design work ahead of time. Every single seed bead is woven over and over by hand using thousands of tiny Japanese seed beads. I’m a self-taught beader. Beads makes me happy, it’s my creative outlet.
